Derek A. Bloom

Mr. Bloom is an attorney with Aviation Legal Group, P.A., Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Washington, D.C. Derek represents U.S. and foreign clients in aircraft purchases and sales, and with regard to the management, financing, and corporate structuring for their aircraft, and related tax and regulatory matters. Derek is listed in The International Who's Who of Aviation Lawyers as an expert on Russian aviation matters, and practiced law in Russia for an extended period of time.

In July 2016, Derek wrote an article on "Restructuring the Ownership and Use of Aircraft" which is available on our website and which has been published in several Russian business aviation publications. Derek has been a frequent speaker on Russia-related business aviation topics at the European Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition.

Mr. Bloom is a member of the Bar Association of the District of Columbia. Mr. Bloom received his Master's Degree in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center, Washington, D.C. in 1989, his J.D. from Boston University School of Law in 1984, and graduated from Brown University in 1981. Derek is fluent in Russian and is an avid sailor and student of history.
