Congress Drops Aircraft Use Restrictions From Highway Bill

Last week, the House and Senate completed consideration of a highway spending bill (H.R. 3) that mostly addresses roadway improvements, but also contained a burdensome proposal to further limit tax deductibility of entertainment expenses for business aircraft from top executives to all employees traveling aboard employer-provided aircraft for entertainment reasons. Fortunately, the proposal was removed from the Highway Bill due, in part, to strong opposition by NBAA and its members.
